The Benefits HG Global Monitoring
With HG Global Tracking, you benefit from continuous visibility over everything that matters to you: assets, livestock, equipment and much more, wherever they may be. This solution makes it easier to manage them, enhances their security and helps you make faster and more effective decisions.

What is GPS geolocation ?
At HIVEGLOBAL, GPS tracking relies on signals from satellites and cellular networks to determine the location of a tracker. The information is transmitted to a tracking platform accessible via computer, tablet, and phone, allowing you to view its location and track its movements from anywhere.

Green Commitment
By optimizing resource use, HIVEGLOBAL helps its clients achieve more sustainable business operations. Thanks to GPS trackers, they can reduce their environmental footprint, optimize their travel, and improve their day-to-day efficiency.

What is the battery life of GPS trackers?
The battery life of the GPS trackers offered as part of the HIVEGLOBAL service depends on the model used, the battery capacity, the frequency of location updates, and the configured tracking mode.
For battery-powered, standalone trackers, battery life can range from a few months to several years. In certain configurations, some models in the HIVEGLOBAL lineup can achieve up to 10 years of battery life, particularly when the location is transmitted only once a day.
As a general guide, battery life can be estimated as follows:
- up to 10 years with a location transmitted once a day
- approximately 2 to 9 years with tracking triggered primarily by movement
- approximately 1.5 to 7 years with location transmission every hour
Actual battery life may, however, vary depending on several factors, including:
- the frequency of location updates
- the duration and frequency of movements
- the quality of GPS reception and cellular network coverage
- operating temperature
- the type and capacity of the batteries
- sensors or devices connected to the tracker
- the operating parameters configured on the platform
These values are therefore approximate. To determine the exact battery life, you must refer to the specific HIVEGLOBAL tracker model and its usage configuration.
What communication networks and GPS systems does it use?
The GPS trackers offered as part of the HIVEGLOBAL service primarily use cellular networks to transmit location data and communicate with the tracking platform. Satellite geolocation is used as a supplement to improve the accuracy and availability of tracking when conditions permit.
This combination makes it possible to track your property, livestock, vehicles, equipment, or any other item equipped with a GPS tracker.
Thanks to a built-in M2M SIM card, data is transmitted to the HIVEGLOBAL platform via various cellular networks, depending on the tracker model, available coverage, and the geographic area in use. Compatible technologies may include:
- 2G networks
- 3G networks
- 4G networks
- 5G networks
- technologies designed for connected devices, such as LTE-M and NB-IoT
The HIVEGLOBAL service relies on multi-carrier connectivity. In France, compatible trackers can use the available cellular networks of several carriers, including Bouygues Telecom, Orange, SFR, and Free Mobile. Internationally, the M2M SIM card can connect to partner networks available in the covered countries.
The cellular network provides the primary communication channel between the tracker and the HIVEGLOBAL platform. Satellite geolocation can supplement this information to obtain a more precise position, particularly during travel or when cellular data needs to be supplemented by another location method.
The tracker automatically selects the most appropriate location method and cellular network based on coverage, signal quality, and usage conditions. This combination ensures that locations, alerts, and various tracking data are transmitted as reliably as possible.
Exact compatibility with cellular networks, geolocation systems, and communication technologies depends on the tracker model as well as the geographic area in which it is used.
How often is the GPS tracker's location updated?
The update frequency for the GPS tracker’s location is set according to the user’s needs and preferences. It can be adjusted based on the intended use, the desired level of accuracy, and the type of tracking involved: property, pets, vehicles, equipment, or any other item equipped with a GPS tracker.
Updates are based on the number of “pings” sent by the tracker. A ping is a data transmission that communicates the tracker’s location to the tracking platform. The more pings there are and the closer together they are, the more frequently the location is updated.
However, a high update frequency also results in greater mobile data consumption. Conversely, a longer interval between pings helps limit data consumption but reduces the frequency with which the location is updated.
The settings can therefore be adjusted to find the best balance between tracking accuracy, alert responsiveness, and data consumption, depending on each user’s specific needs.
How do you install and set up the GPS tracker?
When a customer subscribes to the full HIVEGLOBAL package, which includes the GPS tracker, SIM card, data plan, and GPS subscription, each tracker is preconfigured and activated by our teams before shipment. If the hardware is purchased on its own, the tracker is simply tested before shipment.
The SIM card, subscriptions, and tracking platform must then be configured separately by the customer or with specific assistance.
Upon receipt, the customer therefore has a ready-to-use solution. All they need to do is install the tracker on the vehicle or equipment in question, then access the tracking platform from a computer, tablet, or phone to view its location and track its movements.
With the complete HIVEGLOBAL package, configuration is handled before shipment to simplify installation and allow for immediate use of the tracker upon receipt.
What alerts and notifications can be enabled on the tracking platform?
The HIVEGLOBAL tracking platform offers a comprehensive notification and alert management system that is directly accessible from the app. It allows users to enable basic notifications, view events associated with tracked units, and quickly receive alerts generated based on user-defined settings. Alerts can be simple, for essential tracking, or customizable to more precisely meet the needs of each situation.
This allows users to centralize important information and more easily track events related to their property, livestock, vehicles, equipment, or any other item equipped with a GPS tracker.
Alerts may include:
- alarm events
- towing situations
- trips taken
- entering or exiting a geofence
- speeding
- battery charge level
- unreceived messages
Unit Events
Unit events include events associated with the units being tracked in the app. They are accessible from a single dashboard, providing a centralized view of activities and alerts related to vehicles, equipment, or any other tracked item.
Extended Notifications
Extended notifications allow for the use of additional delivery methods, including:
- email notifications
- Webhook notifications
- Telegram notifications
Custom notifications can also be configured according to the user’s settings and needs.
